Granite City Roller Derby

Roller Derby in Aberdeen

About the club

Granite City Roller Derby are formed in 2007 and are based in Aberdeen. Roller Derby is a fast-paced and full-contact indoor sport played by teams on quad roller skates and is currently thought to be the fastest growing sport in the world. A refreshing example of a sport where the women’s game is considered very much to be the leading edge; Roller Derby emphasises teamwork, respect and determination while also leaving plenty of room for audacious maneuvers!

Anyone can join our new skaters course to become either a skater or an official: we skate under WFTDA so skaters must be 18 years old and identify as: women, trans women, intersex woman and/or gender expansive. All genders can join us as non skating officials or train to be referees.

During this course we aim to build a fun, friendly, and inclusive environment. Entry is open to people of all abilities and our experienced coaches provide comprehensive training for our fast, fun, hard-hitting sport.
