In February 2020, youth groups from across Scotland will come together to battle it out at the 8th annual National Tenpin Bowling Competition to mark LGBT History Month. The event will take place at Probowl in Falkirk. The 2019 winners were the VADA youth group, who join our winners roll below:
2019: VADA, Lothian
2018: Edi Pin Pals, Lothian
2017: shOUT, Glasgow
2016: FK1nclude, Falkirk
2015: Involved, Selkirk
2014: GLOW, Perth
2013: Allsorts, Dundee
To take part, you need teams of 4 young people. We can have 6 on a lane so youth workers, volunteers or other young people are allowed to bowl too, but we will only count the scores from the top 4 young people on the lane. Each team will have 2 games and we will add the scores together. Taking part is free, all you need to do is get your team together and get to the venue. We’ll even provide you with a spot of lunch and a soft drink.
If you think your youth group might like to put a team into the tournament, email us email@example.com and we’ll send the sign up information to you as soon as it is available. There are only spaces for 10 teams, so get signed up early to avoid disappointment.
LGBT History Month is an annual LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender) event which takes place every February and celebrates all things LGBT – past, present and future. It brings the community together through a wide variety of events including arts, film screenings, coffee mornings, poetry readings, charity events and more. LEAP Sports Scotland works with LGBT History Month to ensure that sport events and activities take place throughout the month.
