Festival Fortnight 2020 Cancelled

In light of COVID-19 pandemic, LEAP has taken the difficult decision to cancel Festival Fortnight 2020.
As we all know, COVID-19 pandemic has had a huge impact on everyday life. Events and gatherings have been significantly impacted upon and with much sadness and regret, LEAP Sports Scotland must announce the cancellation of Festival Fortnight 2020. Given the amount of preparatory work involved in the festival delivery and no indication of when COVID-19 related restrictions will be lifted, we have also ruled out the possibility of hosting the festival at a future date this year.
We have taken this decision after much deliberation. We very much hope that the situation in the UK will have improved significantly by 17th June. Nonetheless, our first concerns must be the health and safety of all those involved in the festival, and our role in slowing the spread of COVID-19.
LEAP would like to thank those who took the time to list their events and apply for funding, as well as our integral festival volunteers. We appreciate that the cancellation of the festival will come as a disappointment to many involved in its delivery, as well as those looking to access inclusive sport opportunities or to engage in LGBTI issues in sport. We share in your frustration but will continue to work towards a bigger and bolder programme of events for Festival Fortnight 2021.
