Get Out Glasgow December News
16th December 2025
The Get Out Glasgow group provides free introductions to sport and physical activity for LGBTIQ+ people in Greater Glasgow.

Since our last newsletter Get Out Glasgow participants have enjoyed a visit to Kelvingrove Park & Museum, completing the fencing course with Bellahouston Fencing Club, our annual all Glasgow Projects festive social including an optional trip to Glasgow Community Sauna!
Year Round Up!

This year we’ve had yoga, climbing, self defence, contemporary dance, squash, cricket, gymnastics, bowls, fencing and some lovely walks! We’d love to hear your feedback through our annual feedback form.
Your stories
We’ve got some lovely stories from climbing, squash and cricket participants.
Bug took part in our climbing programme in February:
‘I feel like maybe more consideration was put into how we’re all different in terms of neurodivergence and different gender representations and pronouns. My previous experience is that it's not really been considered so it’s nice not to have to worry about all that stuff because it’s been thought about.’

Joy has been with us for 2 years and took part in our squash programme in May:
‘I’ve always felt like with you guys, with Get Out Glasgow, everytime I arrive somewhere new and I try a new sport I don’t feel any anxiety. I know this is going to be safe. No-one is going to judge me here. I wouldn’t ever have seen inside the club if it wasn’t for Get Out Glasgow. I wouldn’t be able to see or access any of these places.’
Check out her story here.
A participant in our July cricket programme has become much more involved in the LGBTIQ+ sporting community since joining Get Out Glasgow last year:
‘Previous to my connection with Get Out Glasgow/LEAP Sports, I didn’t really connect with the wider LGBT community. Engaging with Get Out Glasgow has opened loads of doors for me. I’ve never been as actively involved in the LGBT community as I am now. It has helped build my confidence to explore other areas of the LGBT community.’
