Get Out Glasgow January News

The Get Out Glasgow group provides free introductions to sport and physical activity for LGBTIQ+ people in Greater Glasgow.

We're keen to hear about and share your experiences of sport and physical activity so we've put together some tips on how to write a blog. If you're interested, please get in touch with robin@leapsports.org

Coming Up!

LGBTIQ+ Self defence class

We’re partnering with Sekumai Shoto Budo to run an LGBTIQ+ self defence class at Firhill Sports Complex on Monday 20th January from 8 to 9pm. No experience required.

LGBTIQ+ Bouldering

We’re partnering with Glasgow Queer Adventures to run a bouldering taster session at The Prop Store on Sunday 26th January from 10.15am. No previous experience of climbing is required.

Participants will be invited to apply for a place on a roped climbing taster session at Glasgow Climbing Centre.

LGBT+ History Month West Community Ten-Pin Bowling Cup 2025.

Our annual ten-pin bowling tournament from 6.45-9pm on Friday 7th February at Hollywood Bowl in the Glasgow Quay.

Our LGBTIQ+ sports club network also has a number of events open to new members including running, cycling, tango, badminton and volleyball.

Glasgow Frontrunners

Glasgow Frontrunners Couch to 5k 9 week programme begins on Tuesday 7th January. Registration here for £14 (£7 concessions). If you’d like some support to attend your first session contact Freyja Hedinsson (Welfare and Inclusion Secretary) at wio@glasgowfrontrunners.org.

Glasgow Inclusive Cycle Club

Glasgow Inclusive Cycle Club have a variety of length and speeds of rides coming up in January from a Wee 28 mile Jaunt to Bowling Harbour to a 55 mile ride to Buchlyvie. For more info sign up to their Spond!

Rebel Tango

Rebel Tango are hosting a queer tango milonga on Saturday 11th January and a taster session on Tuesday 14th January contact queertango@aktivix.org for more info and to book.

Badminton Central

Drop in badminton sessions resume on Tuesday 7th January 7-9pm at City of Glasgow College and

Mondays 13th January 5.45-7.45pm at The Pyramid at Anderston for 6 weeks. Contact bill@leapsports.org for more information.

Saltire Thistle Football

Saltire Thistle train most Wednesdays at 7-9pm at Glasgow Green Football Centre. No matter your ability, all are welcome. The first session is free and we also have our socials 5s at the end of the month on Friday 24th January at Powerleague Townhead.
