Get Out Glasgow October News

27th October 2025

The Get Out Glasgow group provides free introductions to sport and physical activity for LGBTIQ+ people in Greater Glasgow.

Over the past month Get Out Glasgow participants have enjoyed learning fencing with Bellahouston Fencing Club and attending Take Me Somewhere international performance festival.

Join us for a walk and museum visit at Kelvingrove Park, Art Gallery and Museum on Sunday 2nd November from 2-5pm. Register here.

Come along to our LGBTIQ+ Winter wander-land walk and social for all our Glasgow groups including: Get Out Glasgow, Trans Active Gla, LLAMAS, volunteers & the young people and families group. On Sunday 30th November at 1pm we’ll begin with a walk around Maxwell Park followed by food and socialising at Clydesdale Cricket Club from 2-4pm. Register here.

Beatrice & Kathleen attended our cycle touring course which was part of the Wheels in Motion LGBTIQ+ Women’s Cycling project:

‘It’s definitely making me want to cycle more as an everyday thing. Well now that I’ve cycled around Arran, I mean compared to bigger things it’s not that far, it’s just that mindset of actually I could do this as a daily thing. That’s definitely how it’s changed, wanting to have daily habits around cycling.’

‘It’s a different way of experiencing a place. I think when we went to Arran, being able to see the landscape change and compare the different bits of it. You go round a corner and it would go from shore to these massive cliffs, the scenery was amazingly different every time you turned a corner.’

Upcoming external cycling events which welcome LGBTIQ+ women and non-binary people:

Join Ride Bright starting from The Social Hub on Saturday 8th November from 4-7pm. This mass cycling event aims to raise awareness of all women and non-binary people's safety cycling at night. Book here.

BMX, Skating, Parkour and Trampolining at The Loading Bay, Monday 3rd November and 1st December from 6-9pm. No booking required, just £10 on entry. More info here.
