Pride House Confirmed for Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games

23rd July 2025

Plans for 2026 Pride House begin

As Glasgow prepares to host the Commonwealth Games once again in summer 2026, LEAP Sports has announced the return of Pride House Glasgow, a community space designed to engage with the Games, support LGBTIQ+ people in sport, and raise awareness of equality and human rights issues for LGBTIQ+ people.

Pride Houses have become symbols of inclusion at global sporting events, offering safe, welcoming environments for LGBTIQ+ athletes, fans, and allies. Glasgow previously hosted successful Pride Houses during the 2014 Commonwealth Games, the 2016 Homeless World Cup, and the 2018 European Championships. These spaces combined sport, culture, and community to drive conversation, visibility, and inclusion.

Following a recent community survey, support for Pride House 2026 was overwhelmingly positive, with 86% of respondents in favour of the initiative, and 14% keen to know more.

Respondents highlighted the importance of using the Games to raise awareness of human rights across the Commonwealth, promote LGBTIQ+ role models in sport, and ensure accessibility and engagement beyond Glasgow. Themes of trans inclusion, intersectionality, and visibility were central to the community's feedback.

LEAP Sports has confirmed that a Pride House will be organised, with further planning and consultation already being organised. Organisers are committed to building a space that is meaningful, inclusive, and reflective of the diverse LGBTIQ+ communities in Scotland and across the Commonwealth.
