Athlete Campaign & Ambassador Programme
LEAP Sports Scotland is looking for high profile athletes, sports people, and other public figures to become part of our Athlete Campaign and Ambassador Programme.
Following the Commonwealth Games, LEAP Sports Scotland wants to continue to send a clear message to LGBTI athletes, sports people and fans at all levels that they are welcomed and accepted in Scottish sport. We know from experience that the best way to make LGBTI people feel included is for their team mates and peers to visibly show their support, no matter what their own sexual orientation or gender identity is. To help achieve this LEAP Sports Scotland is looking for athletes and sports people to show their support to LGBTI people in sport and to speak out against homophobia through a national campaign. There are three ways you can get involved:
LEAP Sports Scotland Ambassador
This is the highest level of commitment. You would be a named Ambassador for LEAP Sports Scotland and for LGBTI inclusion in sport. We would have a photo and a short statement from you on our website and would occasionally ask you to make an appearance at events, to record short video messages or send a written statement on an issue. We would also ask you to say a few words about supporting LGBTI people in our film (this will be answering a few simple questions).
Film Campaign (Talking)
We would ask you to say a few words about supporting LGBTI people in our film. This would involve answering a few simple questions and we would aim for it to take no longer than 30 minutes. We would also aim to fit around your schedule and bring the film crew to you.
Film Campaign (Silent)
If you don’t fancy talking, but would still like to support our campaign, you can simply be filmed holding a campaign sign. This would involve being filmed holding the sign, and where possible, some footage of you taking part in your sport. We would also aim to fit around your schedule and bring the film crew to you.
Simply fill out your details below and we’ll be in touch shortly.
