Pride Youth Games

A yearly residential for LGBTIQ+ young people


Pride Youth Games (PYG) is a yearly weekend residential for 16-25 year old lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, non-binary, queer and other diversely identifying young people.

It provides a space to meet and get to know other young people from across the UK, and is a chance to try out different sports and activities in a safe, inclusive, and validating environment. It also offers an opportunity to explore wellbeing for LGBTIQ+ young people. The weekend is entirely FREE and available for everyone living in the UK.

There is no need to have any prior experience or skills in sports to attend - we're all there to have fun and try new things together with up to 100 young people :)

This year PYG is on the 12th-14th of August 2022 in Largs, Scotland at the SportScotland National Sports Training Centre Inverclyde

The weekend will include taster sessions of activities provided by different sports organisations and groups. These include:

- Coastal rowing
- Roller derby
- Archery
- Korfball
- Rugby
- Yoga
- Gym fitness
- Football
- Dodgeball
- Kickboxing
- Parkour
- Kabaddi
- Wheelchair basketball
- Lacrosse
- Vogue
- Volleyball
- Floorball
- Gymnastics
- Netball
- Cycling

We will also have a swimming party, a ceilidh, board games, zine making, fun social activities, quiet space, and free time. We will also have some exciting special guests who are yet to be announced!

Accommodation in twin rooms, and food will be provided. You can get help with travel if needed.

Pride Youth Games rotates between Scotland, Wales and England and is held in a different place each year: Carlisle in 2015, Stirling in 2016, Pembrokeshire in 2018 and Manchester in 2019. The events occur in partnership with Pride Sports and LGBT+ Sport Cymru
