A Proud Moment

A Proud Moment

Lewis Drummond gives Pride House Glasgow its own theme tune.

An orchestral composer from Kilmarnock has given Pride House Glasgow its very own theme. Lewis Drummond has composed the piece explaining to us his decision to pair the European Championships tagline of 'The Moment' with the key element of Pride from Pride House - the result is his inspiring composition 'A Proud Moment'.

The stirring and anthemic overture will play at Pride House next Tuesday night when the venue is being formally opened by Claire Haughey MSP and Minister for Mental Health, and Councillor Susan Aitken, Leader of Glasgow City Council. Lewis's thoughtful composition mirrors key themes of Pride House as the journey to equality gradually quickens in pace, whilst some bold passages are punctuated by hints of celebration ending with a defiant optimism.

Speaking for LEAP Sports, Bill Gardiner says "Lewis is a real creative talent and it's been an honour to work with him. We are beyond thrilled to have Lewis compose for us".

We first met Lewis when he won the Creative Talent award earlier this year at the Scottish Learning Disability Awards which are run by the Scottish Commission for Learning Disability.  You can see a short film about Lewis's story below.
