LEAP Forward Launches

European Solidarity Corps have awarded LEAP Sports funding to run a new project, LEAP Forward

LEAP Forward is a European project with the aims of offering LGBTIQ+ young people different volunteering and training opportunities in Scotland and across Europe. The project will consist of three different elements; 

LEAP In will see three young people from countries across Europe join LEAP Sports for a year to work on different projects and elements of our work. These volunteers travel to Scotland and accommodation will be covered for them, as well as some financial contribution towards food. This part of the project is a fantastic opportunity for young people to develop as volunteers and gain invaluable experience  working in LGBTIQ+ sport 

LEAP Out will see three of our volunteers get the opportunity to go away for three or six months to volunteer with a similar organisation. Much like LEAP In, LEAP Out volunteers will be supported financially and will have the opportunity to learn and develop their skills. 

Rural Outreach Is the final arm of the project and will see LEAP Sports welcome three volunteers from rural Scotland who will be supported to come and stay in Glasgow for a placement of up to 3 months and volunteer at LEAP. The goal of this section of the project is to train up volunteers in rural areas who can return home and help LEAP establish volunteering in those areas
