LEAP Sports are very pleased to note Sandra White MSP’s recent parliamentary motion in support of the Pride House initiative and the charity’s work generally:

S4M-08777 Sandra White: A LEAP in the Right Direction for LGBT Participation in Scottish Sport &mdash That the Parliament congratulates LEAP Sports on being awarded £9,960 from the Celebrate programme; understands that this project will create a website, a physical meeting space in the form of a pop up centre and a programme of events and workshops for LGBT people during the Commonwealth Games; notes that many of the events will have a sporting theme in keeping with the 20th Commonwealth Games and that the project will also include live music, exhibitions, films and talks; further notes LEAP’s primary focus on breaking down the social and personal barriers that are considered to discourage LGBT people across the country from participating in Scottish sports; commends LEAP on its continued good work, and wishes it every success with this project.
